The Stone House is the one that punches above its bedroom count: three bedrooms upstairs, a double sofa bed in the snug, and eight people fed and watered without anyone feeling on top of anyone else.
There are three separate places to sit — a living room with an open fire, a reading room looking out over the estate, and a snug with the board games and the sofa bed. The dining room has a log burner of its own and French doors onto the garden, which makes it the room everyone ends up in.
Every bedroom has a king zip-and-link that splits into twins. The master has a decorative fireplace and an en suite shower; the family bathroom has a bath with a view over the South Leicestershire hills, which is a better argument for a long soak than most.
The garden at the back is fully enclosed, with seating and a barbecue, and the hills beyond it.
