Sophie's Barn is a detached four-bedroom barn conversion standing in open green space a short drive from Great Easton, with views out across the south Leicestershire countryside from wherever you happen to be in it.
The whole ground floor is one open kitchen, dining and living space — a huge table made for family banquets and games nights, a fully equipped kitchen with a Nespresso machine, and a living room at the far end for the evening. There is a boot room and a downstairs loo, which is the difference between a muddy walk being fine and being a problem.
Patio doors open onto an enclosed garden with a fire pit for the brisker evenings, and a hot tub can be added to your stay.
Upstairs, four super king bedrooms, all of which convert into eight singles on request — so ten people can be arranged almost any way you like, with the sofa bed in the living room. The master has an en suite shower room; a family bathroom with an over-bath shower serves the rest.
Eyebrook Reservoir is next door for trout fishing and birdwatching. Nevill Holt's theatre is six minutes away, Rockingham Castle ten.
